The rapid proliferation of Internet of Things (IoT) devices has created un precedented opportunities for innovation across industries, yet simultaneously introduced critical security vulnerabilities that threaten the integrity, confidentiality, and availability of interconnected systems. This chapter presents a comprehensive framework for establish ing trust and implementing security best practices across heterogeneous IoT ecosystems. We propose an integrated security architecture that combines anomaly detection using Isolation Forest algorithms with rule-based intrusion prevention systems, complemented by dynamic trust management mechanisms. The proposed methodology leverages multi layered security controls including device authentication, end-to-end encryption, real-time monitoring, and incident response capabilities. Through extensive simulation on a dataset of 1,000 IoT device interactions, our system achieved 95.4% anomaly detection accuracy, high intrusion prevention effectiveness, and maintained sub-50ms average response times. We demonstrate that trust scores dynamically evolve based on device behavior, enabling adaptive security policies. The results indicate that the proposed integrated approach significantly outperforms traditional IoT security implementations across all evaluated metrics. This chapter provides practitioners and researchers with actionable guidelines for deploying secure, scalable, and trustworthy IoT infrastructures.
